Outreach and Engagement
Outreach Services raise awareness about StreetWork Aotearoa and put us in touch with at risk teens.
Street Outreach
We meet and engage with teens where they gather. This includes regular visits to the major malls in our area, the skate-parks and youth centres.
After-school BBQ’s
Our free BBQs help us engage teens at a loose end after school. A great low stress way to build awareness and engage before a crisis occurs.
Crisis Response
The team is on-call to respond to crisis situations. We often come in contact with at risk teens when they are looking for a meal or a place to sleep.
By helping them with their immediate need, we build trust and often a deeper engagement follows.
This is how we do it:
Streetwork Aotearoa uses holistic, evidence-based practices in building trusting relationships with rangitahi and taiohi. We provide a warm introduction to supportive community partners to meet their self-identified needs.
